The first time I realized that you could make money online was my senior year of college. I came across an article about a woman who had established a full-time living working online while touring the world as I was browsing Pinterest. That was my dream, just like any other free-spirited early-twenties person. Naturally, I then wondered, "How can I make money online so I can travel whenever I want?" I made the decision to do some research to see if there were any other people out there who were pursuing the "laptop lifestyle," which involves working from any location with an internet connection and mobile service. It turns out that millions, if not thousands, of people daily earn money online. I made the decision to try it out for myself after realising there are numerous legitimate ways to generate money online. Since then, I've been working from a laptop and making thousands annually. And getting started is easier than you would imagine. Legitimate Online Income Sources Choose the online money-making strategies that best fit your lifestyle because some of them pay more than others. Here are some tips and tools to help you get started discovering free online money-making opportunities.

1. Participate in market research

You won't get rich taking online surveys, but you can make a little money here and there. Most survey sites offer gift cards as payment, but some, like Branded Surveys, also offer PayPal or direct deposit as options. You can become a Branded Elite member and be eligible for extra bonus points and benefits by regularly taking surveys and collecting points. Be cautious when providing personal information to a company you haven't heard much about because we've ranked dozens of paid survey sites, many of which are frauds posing as reputable businesses

2. Sell your unused internet connection

For instance, I can automatically recover $10 to $20 per month using the DollarSprout Rewards browser extension, which is free. It gives me cash back at some of my favourite stores, including Overstock, Walgreens, and Walmart, and it also searches the internet for discount codes and coupons to use at the register. Once the browser extension is installed, DollarSprout Rewards notifies you whether a deal is currently active for any of the 15,000+store websites. There is no "catch" to using the cash back offer; it may be activated with a single click. At any time during a given month, if your earnings amount is greater than $5, you'll automatically get paid in cash to PayPal the following month. Just straightforward, cost-free money returned to your account

3. Earn cashback and rewards online

You may save money on anything from groceries to books with the help of cashback applications and browser extensions. You won't make a lot of money, but the savings can mount up if you shop online frequently.

4. Create YouTube content

YouTubers primarily earn money through ads, which average $0.01 to $0.03 per view, or $3 to $5 per 1000 video views. If you create consistent, engaging content and build a following, you can make money on YouTube with Google AdSense. It’s free to start a creator account, but you must meet YouTube’s minimum requirements before you can monetize your videos

5. Start a blog

It's possible to start a blog and earn money, contrary to popular belief. By promoting brands they are linked with, bloggers are able to monetize their work. The owner of the website receives a commission when customers utilise an affiliate link to buy something. Other options to monetize your blog include displaying advertisements, selling your own goods, and creating sponsored material. A simple, economical method to launch your own digital business from home for less than the price of a cup of coffee each month is through blogging platforms like HostGator. (We developed DollarSprout into a seven-figure brand in the same manner.)

6. Bank hop

One of the cleverest ways to generate money online is "bank hopping," although it frequently needs a small amount of funding to get started. The basic idea is rather straightforward: banks give sizable deposit incentives if you open an account, frequently with a minimum deposit, then keep the funds with the institution for a predetermined amount of time, typically 90 days. For instance, Citi Bank is right now providing bonuses of up to $2000 for creating a new Citigold account and maintaining your funds there for just 60 days (then rinse and repeat at a new institution). Earn $200 for deposits between $10,000 and $29,999 and $2000 for deposits of $300,000 or more with this tiered incentive. Not everyone possesses that much money, but if you do, it is earning. This is a simple way to get a sizable amount of free money. 06% in a typical brick-and-mortar store.

7. Monetize your location data

Ever received one of those push notifications from Starbucks asking if you want a drink if you’re within a stone’s throw of a physicallocation? Recall apps on your phone asking for permission if they can use your location data? Odds are you have over a dozen apps on your phone currently tracking every step you’ve ever made. Now it’s time to monetize it. With Tapestri, users can earn up to $25 per month simply by turning on their location sharing. Tapestri then partners with massive brands to help them gain insight into consumer behavior and shopping patterns. The location data is completely anonymous, and as we mentioned earlier, you’re already sharing it with a number of other apps — at least with Tapestri, you’ll get paid for it.

8. Flip Facebook Marketplace finds

I enjoy following Instagram accounts for furniture flipping, such as Unsophisticated DIY by Whitney Hansen. The key lesson I took away from these experiences was that not all flips need a lot of work. You could buy anything, and then within a week sell it for profit if you can find good enough offers. In addition to furniture, keep an eye out for other goods that can be sold quickly, such as clothing still with tags, antiques, and old-fashioned collectibles like baseball cards or gaming consoles. A flipping school teaches people how to maximise the value of high-margin products they find. Professional flippers like Rob and Melissa of Flea MarketFlipper, who make over $100,000 per year flipping yard sale hauls, have developed this course.

9. Become a proofreader

Authors, bloggers, and even court reporters might benefit from proofreaders to help them make sure their writing is grammaticallyaccurate and error-free. After the author and editor have completed their work, the purpose of a proofreader is to provide anadditional set of eyes. They scrutinize the content for any mistakes that might have gone unnoticed in the past. Afreelance proofreader can expect to make several hundred to even several thousand dollars per month working in their own time with a modest clientele. Tori Gellino, a frequent side hustler and reader of DollarSprout, makes an average of $1,200 each month working as a virtualproofreader. The training she had before bringing them on board and her greatest advice for obtaining a stable of 5 to 10 dependable clients were recently disclosed

10. Get paid to test websites

Website testers give their opinions on a website’s design and user experience. This allows companies to make changes to their websites in order to provide a better experience for their users (and hopefully increase sales). With sites like User Testing, you can earn $10 for every 15- to 20-minute test you complete. Tests involve recording your screen with feedback and answering follow-up questions. Check out other places you can get paid to test websites

11. Manage Facebook Ads for businesses

Facebook allows businesses to advertise their goods and services in users' news feeds as one of the ways it generates revenue. The majority of small company owners are unaware of the benefits of running Facebookadvertisements for their enterprise. You may make $1,000 to $2,000 per month for each client you bring on by learning to explain the importance of ads in attracting new customers and raising brand awareness. Start by contacting local small business owners or enrolling in an online course that teaches you how to manageFacebookads and begin taking on customers.

12. Pick up freelance work

I’ve earned thousands in extra income over the last three years as a freelance writer, web developer, and, most recently, projectmanager. The fastest way to sell your services online is to offer what you already know. If your day job involves managingsocial media, or if you learned to edit podcasts from working on your own personal podcast, those are legitimate services you can offer to clients. Sites like Fiverr, Upwork, and Freelancer.com offer a network of professionals looking for freelancers with your skillset.

13. Work as a virtual assistant

A virtual assistant is an all-encompassing title for someone who offers online services for companies and small businesses. Servicescan range fromgraphic design, to blog management, to email marketing. A good friend of mine started working as a virtual assistant once she had her first child. She makes $35 an hour offering copywriting and email management to local companies. Working as a freelancer will increase your hourly rate but comes with the downside of having to find your own work. Another option is to work with well-known virtual assistant companies that have a steady stream ofclients, but at a lower hourly rate

14. Transcribe audio files

The most common transcription jobs fall into three categories: legal, medical, and general. Companies in the medical or legal realms may require that you have some knowledge or experience in the respective field. As a transcriptionist, you’ll listen to audio files and transcribe them into written content. Pay varies depending on the industry and your level of experience. If you’re interested in transcription, here’s a free 7-day course that includes moredetailsabout what it takes to work as a transcriptionist and how to get started

15. Sell what you make on Etsy

Etsy is known for its variety of handmade and vintage items, but users have seen successselling everything from handmade knitwear and upcycled jewelry to budget printables and home organization binders. Whatever your talent is, there’s a chance that you can sell your crafts digitally and earn some extra income

16. Invest in fine art

People typically picture the standard forms of investment, such as stocks, bonds, real estate, etc. But you may also spend yourmoney on tangible things like great paintings. Prior until now, the majority of common people were unable to purchase well-known and authentic works of art by masters like Rembrandt, Picasso, or Monet. With the help of Masterworks, it is now possible to purchase "shares" in a painting in the same way that you would buy stock. If you are skilled in your craft and don't require the money right away, it's a good method to makemoneyonline

17. Teach English as a second language

Having been a VIPKid teacher myself, I can honestly say it’s a legit way to makemoneyonline. VIPKid hires nativeEnglishspeakers to teach English to children, most of whom are based in China. Your pay is based on your level of teaching experience and how wellyou do in the demo interview. When I worked for the company I had zero experience andregularlymade $1,500 to $2,000 per month teaching part-time

18. Host a digital course

Digital courses are one of the top ways to makemoneyonline today. Outschool is a teacher-recruiting platform specifically designed to help online course creators monetize their knowledge. Its classes range from architecture to yoga to learning about Pokémon characters. According to the site, the average teacher earns $40 per hour, and you don’t need experience teaching to use Outschool

19. Sell your unused gift cards

There are a number of well-known gift card exchanges where you can sell any extra gift cards you may have. A suggested selling point is provided when you enter your gift card on a website like Raise. This can be changed so that the price is whatever you thinkis appropriate. Raise doesn't charge you anything to list your gift card, but after it sells, it will keep 15% of the sale price and giveyou the other 85%. For instance, Raise will keep $6.75 from the sale of a gift card with a $50 balance listed for $45, while you willreceive $38.25.

20. Complete micro tasks

Micro tasks are one of the easiest ways to makemoneyonline. But micro jobs come with micro pay. You can earn a few dollars a month with Swagbucks by watching videos, playing games, and using the Swagbuckssearchengine. Other micro job sites pay users for reviewing content, verifying data, or testing apps and websites

21. Buy and sell domain names

Every time I consider a domainname that might be valuable since I launched my own website in 2016, I buy it. I recently sold one of them on GoDaddy for $1,200; I had initially paid $12 for the domain. Domain flipping may be a successful technique to generatemoneyonline if you enjoy coming up with creative names for websites or companies. Here is a terrific how-to from GoDaddy that offers advice on how to sell a cheap domain name for thousands of dollars.
